Searching for god the LHC way

So the Large Hadron Collider is due to be turned on in full capacity roughly a year from now when they really start generating particle collisions vs. the single rounds or semi-revolutions they are running now.

Once the smashing of particles gets started scientists are hoping they will identify the “Higgs Boson” or “God Particle”, named after Scottish physicist Peter Higgs who first postulated nearly 50 years ago that the particle did exist. It is theoretically the only non-studied Standard Model Particle not yet observed and believed to possibly be the key to making life possible. Think “the force” like in Star Wars.

It will be interesting where the discovery of such a particle places the idea of god and how it challenges al religions. Sure everyone talks of how resolute their “belief” is but one wonders when the turning point from the belief in Zeus to the belief in Evaporation and Rain occurred. Should we manage to deduce the elementary solution to life what do we prove or disprove in knowing its existence?

Here is piece describing the Force from Star Wars that makes me think Lucas had it dead on.

an energy field created by all living things, that surrounds and penetrates living beings and binds the galaxy together
