Amazon Still Needs Saving

It occurred to me today that maybe in the midst of our current Global Warming focused world if we haven’t acutally lost track in some places of conserving the planet. It could very well be that I am speaking from my own microcosm environment and view with the limitations of what I see and know (yup) and while I have to admittingly recognize the benefit that the hype has created in getting more people to do more, it seems like things like the old catch-phrase “Save The Rain forests” have been lost in the bigger picture view.

So, let’s support these indigenous groups that make my action of putting 2 liter coke bottles in the proper recycling bin look about as meaningful and sincere as a political handshake.

Thousands of Amazon Indians are protesting against the Peruvian government. Protests have been going on for more than a week and involve an estimated 14,000 Indians from all over the Peruvian Amazon.
